Lemon and Ginger Tart Recipe For Kids

Lemons are one of the most mineral and vitamin-packed fruits; they are anti-bacterial and benefit your skin immensely.

This recipe requires basic ingredients and tastes amazing. The lemons make it tangy and delicious, and the pastry provides the perfect base.

Ingredients: 

  • 2 oz butter
  • 1 egg
  • Enough pastry to fill a 10-inch pastry dish
  • 5 oz caster sugar
  • One inch cube of peeled and grated fresh ginger
  • The juice of one lemon
  • The rind of one lemon

 

Method:

  1. Preheat the oven at 180 degrees c.
  2. Put the rolled out pastry into the dish.
  3. Mix the butter and sugar and beat into a creamy consistency.
  4. Add the lemon rind and ginger then mix into the sugar and butter.
  5. Then add the lemon juice and the beaten egg and mix again.
  6. Pour the mixture into the pastry case and put it in the oven for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Allow the tart to cool before putting it in the fridge for a few hours
  8. Enjoy with some ice cream or cream and a nice big cup of tea.
