That special time of year is here again – wreaths of holly, cosy winter days and lots of delicious festive food. These easy Christmas mince pies are quick to make, fun for children to help with and taste amazing.

They’ll keep fresh in an airtight container for up to one week, so you can make a batch and enjoy them throughout the festive season.
For extra fun, try cutting holly leaf shapes from pastry to decorate the tops.

🧈 Ingredients

  • 2 sheets of puff pastry
  • 500g mincemeat (fruit filling – not meat)
  • Icing sugar, for dusting

  • Biscuit cutter
  • Bun tin
  • Baking tray
  • Rolling pin (optional)

Always ask an adult to help with the oven.

  1. Place the pastry on a lightly floured surface.
    Use a biscuit cutter to cut out circles for the pie bases and place them into the bun tin.
    Keep enough pastry to make lids or decorative shapes.
  2. Preheat the oven to 150Β°C.
  3. Spoon the mincemeat into each pastry case.
  4. Add a pastry lid or a cut-out holly leaf shape on top of each pie.
  5. Bake in the oven for 10–15 minutes until golden.
  6. Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
    Dust with icing sugar before serving.
