π Christmas Apricot Stuffing
A festive, fruity stuffing that smells amazing and tastes delicious β perfect for a Christmas meal!
π§ Ingredients
- 125g butter
- 200g white breadcrumbs
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 6 fresh sage leaves, finely chopped
- 50g chestnuts, chopped
- 25g dried apricots, chopped
- 3 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
π₯ Equipment
- Large frying pan
- Wooden spoon
- Mixing blender
- Small knife
- Chopping board
- Teaspoon
π©βπ³ Method
Always ask an adult to help with hot pans and electrical equipment.
- Break the bread into pieces and put them into a mixing blender.
Ask an adult to help you turn it into breadcrumbs. - Melt the butter in a large frying pan.
Ask an adult to turn the hob on for you. - Add the chopped onion and gently cook for about 5 minutes, stirring with a wooden spoon, until soft.
- Stir in the sage and cook for 1 minute until it smells lovely.
- Add the breadcrumbs and stir well so they soak up all the buttery goodness.
- Add the chopped apricots, chestnuts, salt and a little black pepper.
Cook over a medium heat for about 7 minutes, stirring often, until the crumbs turn golden and slightly crispy. - Take the pan off the heat and stir in the parsley.
- Serve warm β or pop it in the oven on a low heat to keep it warm and crispy.
